Outlook Media and The Ohio Historical Society have developed a partnership to archive and curate Ohio’s Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Transgender and Questioning community’s history and culture.

Outlook will be the conduit for Ohio’s gay community to the Ohio Historical Society’s multi-cultural, historical initiative. Starting immediately, Outlook will be talking with individuals that can donate or loan items of significance from Ohio’s GLBTQ community to the Society. Over the next few years, we will be hosting exhibits of these items at various locations around town.. We will also have traveling exhibitions that can be part of pride celebrations all around the state of Ohio. As we accumulate more and more historical items from around the state, we are also going to have to help finance the storage, care and archival processes for our history.

The Ohio Historical Society has agreed to archive, care for, and display our archives. While a few small local gay museums exist around the country, we believe that our statewide initiative and this new partnership is a first in the United States. We owe a debt of gratitude to The Ohio Historical Society for their courage and foresight in not only helping us to archive Ohio’s gay history, but for letting the gay community, our gay community be the first participant in their multi-cultural, historical endeavor.
